This past weekend the Hammond Transportation Peewee HL team traveled to Oshawa for the 7th Annual Bob Black Memorial Tournament. Their 1st game was Friday evening against Gertis PMHA (Peterborough). With just over 3 minutes left in the 1st period, Garrett Ott scored our goal, with Chase Knight assisting.

The Bantam Bear’s fought back from a 1 game deficit to win the last 2 games of the Bracebridge / Huntsville OMHA playoff series. Goalie Owen Nudd played 2 fantastic games, earning a 5-0 shut out against the Otter’s Saturday night and 6-1 win in Huntsville Sunday night.

The Fowler atom Bears cleaned house in the best of five series, with three straight wins to advance in the next round of OMHA playoffs. Never an easy win, the Otters came out kicking and screaming with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Game 1 was a good example of a Huntsville team functioning on determination, resolve and fortitude. Not the Bears best performance, it was a struggle to get focused and move the puck effectively up the ice. As a result, the first period went scoreless.
