Cavalcade Ford Bantam Rep - Great Hockey Experience
Submitted By Marcel Waters on Monday, January 16, 2012
Marcel,

Thank you very much for your positive email to our minor hockey president, your thoughts are exactly what my staff were talking about after our final goodbyes.
The minor hockey community down here is buzzing with positive vibes about our weekend.

Hopefully our paths will cross again.

Good luck in your playoffs - and yes I agree, like Steve Maher said to your team " this is a memory we will all have for years to come"

Hello Mike,

Our Bracebridge Bantam Rep team was hosted this past weekend by your BCH Bantam team for some exhibition games.

It seems these days that the only thing you hear about minor hockey in Canada is the soaring costs, the crazy parents and players associated with it. How often do you hear about the benefits, friendships and good memories created because we are involved with minor hockey.
Positive and refreshing stories are few and far between and that is why I needed to let you know that your coaches, parents and players involved with the Bantam team are just that and more.

They all welcomed us with open arms Friday evening supplying us with food and refreshments along with some fun games so the boys could get more comfortable with each other before heading home with each players billeted family.

This continued throughout the weekend as all were showered with warm smiles, fun games and yes some good clean hockey as well.

This past weekend was something that will be remembered by all of our boys. Its amazing how two teams that live so far apart can come together so quickly to form friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
Long after the season is over I can assure you that this past weekend will be what the boys will remember. Not the play downs or regular season play but just a couple of fun hockey games with players who love to play hockey.

The parents who opened their doors to complete strangers and made each boy feel part of the family is still amazing to me. You should be proud of your Bantam coaching staff, parents and players. I know we are.

It is my understanding your association is trying to win the Kraft Hockeyville Crown this year. If this team is an example of what BCH Minor Hockey represents you should have no problem in winning the Hockeyville contest. This past weekend is what hockey is all about.

Yours in hockey,

Marcel Waters
